Well, today we rented out the main floor of our home. We advertised the rental on Craig's List and Kijiji and then had a day of showings, checked out references and picked the family that will share our home. It was a strange process to go through, as we have never been landlords, but we are very pleased with the young family that we selected. They seem like really nice people and they are interested in being here long-term, so that is a huge blessing. Now all we need to do is get the basement finished and move down there! Dean and Josh (my brother-in-law and nephew) were here today putting in windows and the bathtub. Rocky is busy working on mudding and taping all the drywall. My dad has been here almost every evening working on whatever tasks need doing. We are so blessed to have family here in town willing to help us (help Rocky) with the work downstairs.
It has been a year and a half since we sat across from Les and Rita at the Granja just north of Tactic and discussed working with Impact Ministries. The Lord had spoken to both Rocky and I many years earlier about serving Him on the foreign mission field, but the timing was never right. That night Rocky said it was time.
It has been an amazing journey the Lord has taken us on. There has been much opposition, but God's blessing and provision has always been greater. Through it all the Lord is teaching me how to rely on Him for all things and not be tossed to and fro by what is happening around me. This is a big one for me, but I know my God is patient with me...thankfully!
Thank you for your support and encouragement. As we all do our part, serving in whatever capacity God has called us to, we are building a Kingdom that will endure forever.
Bless you,
Karren and Rocky
